“Hello Moon!” Exclaimed Barron. He had quite the love for the night. Especially a wondrous rainy night such as this. He had just come out of his lovely prison of boredom yet safety. Life for the villagers is quite the tedious one. Everyone has their various tasks of basic survival; making ends meet and all that. The usually everyday life. Barron didn’t want the everyday life. He wanted a little more… excitement. A little adventure here, a monster killed there. Whatever to get him out of this damn route. There’s not much to get Barron excited, one of these few exceptions includes the moon. He viewed the moon as the most beautiful of all creations. He has even sworn that he will reach even though no one else has. Being the sole reason he doesn’t give up on everything, he looks up and greets the moon every day and he knows the moon is greeting him back by illuminating everything around him with her glow. Today being no exception. Barron strolled past the town following the glow of the moon. Tonight, he decided he was going to find the place where the moon was directly beaming down upon, for everyone knows the only way to get to the moon is to find the place it is directly above.
Walking down the streets he waved and smiled at everyone who still outside from the long working day. He walked past the creepy guy who never says a word. “Hello, Mr. know-one-knows-who-you-are-or-where-you-come-from” Barron said and only received silence. “Oh well” he just shrugs it off. As Barron was walking a cat scampers over his feat, but before it could get too far off, fast hands swooped it up. “I LOVE YOU KITTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Barron being a lover of all things couldn’t resist the chance to acquire a new friend. He hugged the feline very tightly then pats it ever so tenderly. The cat from first being scared then eased up and started purring. Barron asked the cat “do you wish to come with me?” The cat just rammed his face into Barron’s. An obvious yes Ill love you forever! “We are going to the moon Mr. Kitten, Ill hope you like it.” Finally someone Barron can talk to who will actually listen. Together they skipped merrily to the edge of town. The dark forest stood in front of them. A place that has not been visited in night for quite some time. A new frontier and adventure. It was almost as if it was calling Barron’s name! One step in the woods and everything around him became trees and wilderness. An ominous sight indeed, everything just seemed to detach more from civilization the further they traveled. “At least I have you Mr. Whiskers!” Barron didn’t feel alone but the surrounding darkness just consumed his bravery with each step, till he was completely petrified. There were such strange noises, but he was devoted to the moon. He wouldn’t allow himself to disgrace her beauty.
He kept pushing along, forcing his fears down his throat and by the way the cat was grasping him, it wasn’t in a much better position. Every step they took was in vain. The moon just traveled further as they progressed towards it, never seeming to cease and allow them to catch up. Barron was getting exhausted, they had been walking for what seemed like miles and it seemed that trying to obtain the moon was a very bad idea. It was imperative that they took a break, but nowhere seemed safe. They continued walking until Barron tripped and accidently threw the cat into a river.
